Coconutica ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Acapella Editor: Mix Videos iPhone and iPad app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Your projects (stay on your device)
- Videos, photos and audio you record or import, music you add, and your project drafts
- These are stored and edited on your device. They are only sent to our servers when you use collaboration (section 1.4).
1.2 Automatically collected information
- App usage events (for example a recording starting or an export finishing), device model, operating system version and app version, collected with Firebase Analytics. These events are associated with an app user identifier that is also used for your subscription.
- Crash reports and diagnostics, collected with Firebase Crashlytics
- A Firebase installation identifier, used to deliver app configuration (Firebase Remote Config)
1.3 Account information (optional)
You only need an account to collaborate with friends. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead) and an account identifier from that provider. You can also set a display name. We use this to run your account and to show collaborators who you are.
1.4 Collaboration content (optional)
- Collaboration is invite-only. When you share a project with friends, the reference you choose (a video with audio from your project, a backing music file, or metronome settings) is uploaded to our servers. When you record a part for a friend's project, your recording (video and audio) is uploaded.
- Uploaded media is available only to the people in that collaboration: the project's creator and the friends they invited. Collaborators see your display name.
- If you report a collaboration, we receive the reason you pick and any text you add.
1.5 Subscription information
- Purchase history and subscription status, processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat
- We never receive or store your payment details
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the App's features, including editing, export and collaboration
- Run your account and your subscription
- Understand how the App is used, fix crashes and improve the App
- Review reports and keep collaboration safe
- Respond to support requests
The App does not show advertisements and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
3. Storage, Retention and Security
- Projects and drafts on your device stay until you delete them. Exports are saved to your photo library.
- Collaboration media is stored on our servers (hosted by Cloudflare) until the expiry date shown for each collaboration (currently 30 days from when the collaboration is created), then deleted. Ending a collaboration stops new recordings being sent to it. Recordings a creator has already added to their project stay on the creator's device.
- Account information is kept until you delete your account (section 6).
- Data is encrypted in transit between the App and our servers.
5. Device Permissions
- Camera and microphone: to record, only while you record
- Photo library: to import the media you select and to save your exports
- Apple Music (optional): to add music from your library
- Notifications (optional): reminders you choose to receive
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Delete projects and drafts in the App at any time
- Delete your account in the App (Account → Delete account) or at acapellaeditor.com/delete-account. We delete your account information and the collaboration media you uploaded; your account is permanently erased within 30 days.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, by contacting us (section 10)
California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to non-discrimination. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us.
8. International Users
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We update the date above when this policy changes and, for material changes, tell you in the App.
